Julia Jane (Yorko) Lewis, 83, Housewife/Homemaker Lakeland " Julia Jane Lewis, 83, was called home by the Lord Tuesday, January 10, 2012 due to heart failure at her home in Lakeland where she resided since 1978. Born in the small mining community of Clymer, PA, June 11, 1928, she was the eighth of ten children. She lived in Clymer until marrying Samuel Paul Lewis, Jr. in October 1949 then making their home not far away in Indiana, PA. In August of 1977, they moved their family to Lakeland. They were blessed with 50 years of marriage until his death in June 2000. Julia was a good and faithful servant of our Lord all her life to the end. She always put others first and she last. She was a devoted wife and mother and always tried to do the very best for everyone. Her love of the Lord was evident in her every day actions and the words she spoke. She could quote the Bible chapter and verse with the book of Psalms being one of her favorites. She was of the Protestant faith for over 60 years and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was well known for her gentleness and kind ways, baking, cooking, and many more attributes too lengthy to list. She was a devoted animal lover having many pets through her life who loved her deeply. She leaves a tremendous void and will be sadly missed by her family and those that knew her, but she would wish everyone sunshine of tomorrow and would want us spared of the sorrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, and her husband. She is survived by her son, Samuel Bradley (Brad) Lewis (Lisa) of Lakeland, daughter, Sharon R. Hymiller (Carl) of Winter Haven, a brother in Connecticut and a sister in Ohio, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 10-11 AM with service immediately following at the Heath Funeral Chapel, Lakeland. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park, Bartow Road, Lakeland.
