January 8, 1924 — May 12, 2019

Lakeland – Juanita Henderson was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 8, 1924 to Howard and Loretta Brown. At the age of 2, her family moved to Miami, Florida where Juanita grew up and graduated from Ponce de Leon high school with training as a personal secretary. Later, she met her future husband during the war at a USO dance in downtown Miami. After a lovely courtship, she married Elmer B. Henderson on February 13, 1944. They settled into married life and raised a family. She had two children, Douglas Henderson (deceased) and Debra Henderson Klise. She had two grandchildren, Kristen Klise Listenby and Russell W. Klise III (Jennifer) and three great grandchildren, Ashley and Ella Listenby and Masen Klise. She moved to the Florida Presbyterian Homes in February 2007 to be closer to her family and enjoyed getting to know her new neighbors. Juanita loved to square dance and continued to dance until she was in her 80’s. She had a strong love for her faith, family, and friends. Juanita went to be with the Lord on Mother’s Day on May 12, 2019. Her family loves her so much and she will be greatly missed.
