Joyce Risley Crichlow

JOY R. CRICHLOW, 87 Joyce Risley Crichlow, 87, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 due to heart failure. Joy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a joy to everyone she met. She was born on March 16, 1927 in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from Plant High School and attended Florida State College for Women. She returned to Tampa where she met her husband, Bob Crichlow. They moved to Lakeland in 1960 and she became active in the community. She was past Executive Director of Camp Fire Girls, Inc. and was a tireless volunteer for them for many years. She was a member of Heirloom Antique Club, Lakeland Garden Club, League of Women Voters, Lakeland Symphony Orchestra Guild, PTA President of Cleveland Court Elementary, and a long time member of St. David\'s Episcopal Church. She worked alongside her husband for many years at their family business, Cash Registers Unlimited. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Guy H. and Maxine Risley, and her husband of 61 years, Bob Crichlow. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Crichlow Holmes (Clinton); 2 grandsons, Ford Holmes and Reed Holmes, all of Lakeland; her brother, Guy Risley (Betty) of Tampa and nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 10:00 am at St. David""s Episcopal Church, with a reception following at the church.
