Josephine Reck Hamilton

Josephine Anne Reck Hamilton, 97, of Lakeland, passed away on January 30, 2022. Jo was born in Avon Park, Florida on October 25, 1924, to Herbert and Letta Reck. Jo and her mother moved to Lakeland in 1935. She graduated from Lakeland High School in 1941 and married John Hamilton in 1948. Since moving to Lakeland, she had been a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and was faithful as an Elder, choir member, soloist, and children’s choir director. She loved singing, studied vocal at Florida Southern College, and used her gift to bless others at weddings, funerals, and social gatherings. She is survived by her son, Don (Judy), daughter, Anne Little (David), and son, Al (Colleen), as well as nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John Hamilton, and her grandson, Timmy Little. There will be a Celebration of Life for Jo on February 19, 2022, at 2 pm in the Chapel at Florida Presbyterian Homes, 16 Lake Hunter Drive in Lakeland.
