John Ronald Jackson

John Ronald Jackson, 70, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Salisbury, MD and West Chester, PA, passed away July 25, 2015 at Tampa General Hospital. He was born to John B and Betty Ann Jackson in Coatesville, PA on September 5, 1944. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) McVey on August 4, 1962. He was a manager with American General Life Insurance Company, retiring after 27 years. While living in Salisbury, John won many top awards in trap shooting as a member of Salisbury Gun Club. He loved fishing and hunting, playing golf and baseball and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved driving and working on vintage cars. In his later years he developed a love of carpentry and built large covered porches on his homes in Salisbury and Lakeland where he spent many happy hours. John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Jackson, who, in his words, is one lucky woman. He has one beloved daughter, Donna L. Hussain, wife of MAJ Paul Hussain, USA (Ret) of Colorado Springs, CO. He has one grandson, CPT John Bradley Hussain, USA and his wife MAJ Rachel Hussain, USA of Vine Grove, KY, and 3 granddaughters, Kelly, Sarah and Colleen Hussain all of Colorado Springs. He has four great-grandchildren, Christian, Molly and twins Samuel and Abigail. John also leaves behind three sisters, Ruth Ann Hughes of Downingtown, PA, Diane Ross and Sara Ann Middleton, both of Lakeland, FL and one brother, Thomas R. Jackson of West Chester, PA, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ivan S. Jackson of Honey Brook, PA. John was loved and admired by so many. Most will remember him for his infectious smile, wonderful sense of humor and willingness to be a helper to all. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Days Hotel Carriage House and Conference Center, 943 S High Street, West Chester, PA 19382.
