John Eugene Dennie

John E. Dennie passed away on January 22, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida. He was born November 7, 1925, in Martins Ferry, Ohio.

John earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from West Virginia University. He is a Navy veteran and served in World War II. John worked as an engineer at Union Carbide Corporation in Charleston, WV for more than 35 years and resided in St. Albans, WV. He moved to Lakeland, FL in 1993 where he enjoyed a long retirement playing golf and bridge with many friends. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL and previously served as the president of his Sunday school class.

John is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Agnes Dennie, and sibling, Harold Dennie.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Dr. John Edwin (Jane) Dennie, Gregory Amos (Debra) Dennie; 5 grandchildren, Mary Katherine (Kyle) Vaughn, Marin Dennie, Sarah Elizabeth (Scott) Hubal, Kaelyn (Luis) Feliciano, Braydon Dennie; 5 great grandchildren, Audrey Vaughn, Isabel Vaughn, Tanner Hubal, Jackson Feliciano, Callum Feliciano; siblings, Robert Dennie, Vince Dennie, Mary Agnes Dennie Keener.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 10 AM at the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church.
