John A. Barker

John A. Barker, 90 Lakeland: Mr. John A. Barker, 90, of Lakeland, went to see the Lord on March 16, 2013 from natural causes. He came to Florida in 1950 from Beckley, West Virginia. John worked in real estate for four years and then went to work for Agricultural First Farm Credit for 25 years. He was a member of Legacy Christian Church, Kiwanis Club, Scottish Rite, member of the American Legion, the Lakeland Elks Lodge #1291 and the Masonic Lodge #91. John was also a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Amanda Barker; His first wife Pearle Taylor; brother Donald G. Barker of Deland FL; sister Doris A. Barker of Beckley, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife Mary Coil; Sons Jeffrey A. Barker of Richmond, IND; John A. Barker, Jr. and wife Cassandra of Lakeland; step-daughter Sheila M. Preston and husband Don of Clarence NY. Grandchildren: Deborah Barker, Judith Barker, Sarah Barker of Lakeland; Step-grandchildren Scott M. Preston of Amherst, NY, Andre""a Balland of Rochester, NY; Courtney A. Preston of New York City and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Legacy Christian Church on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with a viewing prior to the service.
