Joe Ronald Parrish, Sr.

Joe Ronald Parrish Lakeland – Joe Ronald Parrish passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018. He was born on February 29, 1936 in Clanton, Alabama to Clifton C. Parrish and Lucille Kelley. He worked for Halliburton Industrial Services for 30 years before retirement. Joe served during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1962. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and raised pigeons for racing. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Parrish, parents, Clifton Parrish and Lucille Foshee, and sister, Peggy Parrish. He is survived by his daughters, Deidra Francis (Steve), Mary Coker (Daniel), Lori Parrish Ellicker, and Scarlett Slay (Chris); sons, Joel Ray Parrish (Loura), John Parrish (Bridgette), Joe Ronald Parrish, Jr., James Parrish (Diana) and Jeff Parrish (Renee), and Penny Weatherford; grandchildren, Patrick, Jessica, Jason, Justin, Sarah, Brittany, Tyler, Garrett, Kyle, Nicholas, Abigail, Tia, Cody, Jess, Ruth, Starr, Carl and Skylar; great-grandchildren, Madison, Nadyn, Luke, Aurora, Andrew, Mya, Anna, Gemma, Tinnely, Johnni, Mckinzie, Kourtney, Mathias, Lucas, Kenzie, Bradyn and Daphne. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, Florida 33801, with services following Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery with military honors.
