Joe Potter

Joe Potter, 89 Franklin Electric Lakeland: Joe Potter, 89, of Lakeland, died October 16, 2012 from natural causes. Joe was born on July 27, 1923 in Clinton, Oklahoma. He was married to Eleanor (Grym) Potter at Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 29, 1946. He was employed by Uniroyal in Fort Wayne for eleven years as a product controller. He also worked for Franklin Electric company in Bluffton, Indiana for twenty three years as a product controller and foreman. He served on the Board of Directors of a sheltered workshop in Adams and Wells counties in Indiana for six years, the last two years as President. Mr. Potter was a member of the Lake Morton Methodist Church. Mr. Potter was a veteran and served 38 months in the Air Corps during WWII attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor; he is survived by his son Terry of Lakeland and 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Potter and his wife Eleanor moved to Lakeland, Florida from Bluffton, Indiana in 1984. A memorial service will be hld on Monday October 22, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church Chapel in Lakeland with a reception following.
