Jesse Gerald Garrett, 92 On October 10, 2015, our cherished and loving husband, Father, Grandee and Great Grandee is now living in the Father""s house with his beloved wife, Dora. Gerald was born April 18, 1923 in Marianna, Florida to Jesse and Ella Garrett. His childhood was spent growing up in Crestview, FL. He served during WWII in the United States Marine Corps and was an alum of University of Florida. Gerald and Dora moved from Pensacola, FL with their three daughters to Lakeland in 1961. They were members of First United Methodist Church and the BYKOTA Sunday School Class. Gerald had a successful career and retired after 37 years with Peninsular Life Insurance Co. After retirement, Gerald and Dora enjoyed years of traveling the US, Canada and over 21 other countries around the world. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Lone Palm Golf Club. Brother Gerald was a Master Mason of Southland Lodge #256, a Grotto and a York Rite for over 45 years. Gerald is survived by daughters, Lyndal (Ed) Lynn of Atlanta, Pamela DuBose of Lakeland, Sandra (Rick) Norman of Plant City; grandchildren, Amy (Paul) Alley, Garrett (Kathy) Norman, Melissa Lynn, Kimberly Ross and Kathryn (Eli) O""Quinn; great grandchildren, Cole Alley and Alexis Norman. He is currently a member of First United Methodist, Plant City where a Memorial Service will be held Friday, Oct 16, 2015 t 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd, Winter Haven, FL 33881 are appreciated.
