Jeane Russell Buell

Jeane Russell Buell, 92 Elementary School Teacher Lakeland - BUELL, Jeane Russell, (92), of Lakeland, Florida, died on September 23, 2012. Born May 26, 1920 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles H. Russell and Charlotte Johnston Russell. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, the Reverend Doctor Harold E. Buell, and is survived by sons Rodd (Carole), Bruce (Gail) and Mark (Courtney), six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and also studied at Penn State University and the University of Pittsburgh. She was an elementary teacher in both Pennsylvania and Florida. In 1948 she moved to Florida with her husband, living in several locations including St. Petersburg, Miami, Tampa, and Gainesville, moving from Gainesville to Lakeland in 1984, where she lived until her death. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, United Methodist Women, and a former member of P.E.O. A private, graveside service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Tampa, Florida, 500 W. Platt Street, Tampa, FL 33606.
