James Lee Forsythe

James Lee Forsythe James Lee Forsythe, 87, of Lakeland, Florida went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ from congestive heart failure on April 18, 2012. He was born July 24, 1924 in Missouri Township in Brown County Illinois. He was the fifth child of the late Charles and Eva Forsythe. Mr. Forsythe resided several years in the Kewanee area including owner/operator of City Service Gas station, partner with son Larry Forsythe at Forsythe-Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge, and owned Forsythe Welding Company. Mr. Forsythe was very proud of his affiliation of his 50 plus years as a Mason and Shriner, and a member of Legacy Christian Church in Lakeland, Fl. The Forsythe""s moved to Lakeland in 1987. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Robert, Eugene, John and sisters Irene and Laura. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 67 years, which he adored, one son Larry and his wife Michelle, Winter Haven, Fl. Four grandsons, Chuck and his wife Julie Forsythe, Kewanee, Il, Chad and his wife Amanda Forsythe, Ogden, Ks, Aaron and wife Any Farrey, East Moline, Il, Doron and wife Joey McJunkin, Denver, Co. One granddaughter, Bethanne and her husband Joe Harris Norcross, Ga. Eight great grandchildren: Erin, Cameron, Paige Forsythe, Abigail, Alex Farrey, Isabelle, Kenzie McJunkin and Gavin Harris. One sister, Ellen Underwood, Springfield, Il and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:00 am at Legacy Christian Church, 901 West Beacon Road, Lakeland, Fl with the funeral service following at 11:00 am with Roy Goodlet officiating and Steve Newland assisting. Interment will follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Legacy Christian Church, Lakeland, Fl and Havendale Christian Church, Winter Haven, Fl.
