James H. Smith, Sr.

James Howard Smith, Sr., 81, Educator Lakeland " James H. Smith, Sr., 81, passed away on April 22, 2012 due to heart failure. He was born on July 7, 1930 in Coalwood, WV. He graduated from Concord College and Rollins College. He was a retired educator from the Polk County School Board. James is survived by his daughters, Patricia A. Meadows, Kay Rogers, Pamela Whittaker, and Catie Smith, his sons, James H. Smith, Jr. and Christopher Smith, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel and a service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11:30 am at Heath Funeral Chapel.
