James C. Kyzer, Jr., 70 Certified Financial Planner James C. Kyzer, Jr. passed away on July 1, 2013 in Lakeland, FL. He was reared in Tuscaloosa, AL and graduated from The University of Alabama. He was a U.S. Army combat veteran of the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Following his service, Jim resided in Birmingham, AL and was with Liberty National Life Insurance Company for 20 years. He later became a founding partner of Kelley, Kyzer, and Mullis. Jim served as President of the Birmingham Society of CLU and was an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham. While in Birmingham, Jim was a member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church. Upon his recent move to Lakeland, FL, he joined First Presbyterian Church. Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Ximena ""Pat"" Kyzer. Jim is survived by his wife Peggy McKewen Kyzer; daughter and her husband, Emily and Michael Browne; stepdaughter and her husband, Julie and Brian Hartline; and stepson, Woody Shepherd. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Hartline, as well as his sister and her husband, Carolyn and Jim Delk, and sister, Charlotte Kyzer. A private service was held in Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, Jim requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children""s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148.
