James Augustus Proctor

James Augustus Proctor, 70 Lakeland- James Augustus Proctor died on July 11, 2015. He was the beloved father of James Michael Proctor and most dearly loved husband of Joy Proctor. He moved to Lakeland, Florida in 2003 to be closer to his only brother, Henry Thomas Proctor, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joy Proctor of Lakeland. His son predeceased him in death in 2007. A lifelong Christian of strong faith, Jim was patient and quiet and kind. A true Southern gentleman raised by genteel parents Henry Thomas Proctor, Sr. and Margaret Effie Proctor. He graduated from Gordon High School in Atlanta, Georgia where he was born and completed his education at Georgia State University. He was an Episcopalian since 2004 and truly respected his priest, Fr. Al Jenkins. Jim wasn""t a person to boast of his accomplishments though there were many. He chose, instead, to just live his life without the need for applause. His funeral will take place at All Saints"" Episcopal Church, Lakeland, on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to All Saints"" Memorial Fund in his memory.
