Jacquelyn Evans, 87 JACQUELYN EVANS died September 15, 2015, in Lakeland, FL. Jackie was born August 8, 1928, to Martha Naomi and Elton Julian Rawl in Jacksonville, Florida. She was adopted at age 13 by her mother""s second husband, Robert John Buschert. She grew up in Beaufort, SC, and graduated from high school there, going on to the University of South Carolina. In 1947 she married Jack Wall Evans, of Tampa, Florida. They lived in Gainesville, FL, until 1950 when Jack graduated from the University of Florida and they moved to Tampa. Jack was called back into service during the Korean War during which time they lived briefly in Shreveport LA. They returned to Tampa and lived there until they moved to Lakeland in late 2004. During many of her years in Tampa, Jackie worked as the head of the Accounting Department of the Office Equipment Co., a family-owned business. Jackie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tampa, where she and Jack were counselors for several years of the senior high school youth group. During this time, they led two mission trips to the outer islands of the Bahamas. After moving to Lakeland in 2004, Jackie joined First United Methodist Church of Lakeland. Jackie was also a member of the Junior League of Tampa and the Suncoast Girl Scout Council Board. She was the Troop Leader for Girl Scout Troop 81 for many years, encouraging many of the girls in her troop to reach the then-top rank in girl scouting, Curved Bar! Jackie is survived by her two children, Martha Gay Evans Duncan, of Lakeland, (husband-Mont) and Clarke Campbell-Evans of Tampa, (wife-Sally), six grandchildren: Suzanne Duncan of Atlanta, Evans Duncan (wife " Angie) of Lake Junaluska NC, Curtis Duncan (wife " Bailey) of Waynesville, NC, Abigail Evans, Zach Evans and Ben Evans all of Tampa. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Kyler Coleman, Jr of Lakeland, FL, Emma and Ethan Duncan of Lake Junaluska, NC, and Ellie Duncan of Waynesville, NC. Jackie is also survived by her two sisters: Dianne Xitco of Norco, CA, and Sue Castrellon. A service celebrating the life of Jackie will be held in the chapel of the Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Tampa, beginning at 2 pm on Thursday, October 1st. There will be a time when the family will receive friends. This will take place in Knox Hall, Room 150, adjacent to the chapel, beginning at 1 pm prior to the memorial service. Gifts in memory of Jackie may be made to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, 51 Main Street, Enterprise, FL 32725 or to the Florida Conference Office of Missional Engagement, 450 Martin Luther King Jr Ave., Lakeland, FL 33815.
