Ida Mae Evers-Averett-Warren passed away on 8/28/21. Ida was born on March 18, 1933, at home in Alafia, Florida to Ross and Regina Evers. She graduated from Turkey Creek High School with honors and also graduated from Gordon Keller School of Nursing with honors. She worked at Tampa General Hospital for 10 years in the trauma and surgical unit. During the Polio epidemic she worked in the iron lung unit at the University of Mississippi. She married Sanford (Sam/Sonny) Averett in 1958 and they started Averett Septic Tank Company the same year. She retired from nursing in 1963 and went to run Averett Septic with Sam full time. They were instrumental in developing and improving procedures in the septic industry state wide. She and Sam had two children Suzzane Butner and Sam Averett. Growing up she was involved in the Hopewell Baptist Church, Rainbow Girls, and Eastern Star. Later in life she was involved with Crystal Lake Baptist Church and then Lakeside Baptist Church. She was a first aid instructor for the American Red Cross in first aid and CPR. After the loss of her husband, Sam, of 50 years she married J.M. Warren. They attended Gapway Baptist church. They were happily married for 5 years until he too passed away. She loved to travel. Her goal was to see the world, and she saw a lot of it. She was proceeded in death by her brother Thomas Evers. She is survived by her two children Suzzane Butner and Sam Averett, her brother Ross Evers, sisters Dorothy Myers, Helen Jarvis, Paula Brogan, Thelma Sherling, 4 grandchildren Ami Britt, Andrew Britt, Jenna Lister, and Sonny Averett, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at The Rock Community Church on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 10-11am with a memorial service starting at 11am.
