Howard Curtis Hornsby, Sr., 93 Lakeland: Howard Curtis Hornsby, Sr. died October 16, 2014 at his home due to natural causes. Mr. Hornsby was born December 12, 1920 in Ashburn, GA and later moved to Lakeland with his family. He was owner-operator of Winston Farms for over 55 years. Ranching for most of his life, he also was a general contractor having built many homes in Lakeland during the late 1950's and early 1960's. He was a member of St. Joseph' s Catholic Church and the Florida Cattleman's Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors. He is survived by his sister: Hazel Shelton, Winter Haven, FL; sons: Howard C. (Karen) Hornsby, Jr., Marshallville, GA; Terry Hornsby, Sr., St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren: Tricia Hornsby, Atlanta, GA; TJ Hornsby, Minneapolis, MN; Jason Hornsby, San Diego, CA; Michael (Megan) Hornsby, Peoria, AZ; great granddaughters: Savannah, Vivienne and Evelynne Hornsby. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Heath Funeral Chapel with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
