Hilla Burjor Poonegar

Hilla Poonegar, age 75, was wrapped in God’s arms on April 1st. 2017. Hilla was born in Aden, Yemen, she then moved to Bayswater, England where she learned English. After she and her late husband, Baji had their daughter Sherry, they moved to the United States where she began her career with the Internal Revenue Service in Tallahassee. She retired in 2008 after twenty-six years of service and moved to Lakeland. Hilla was full of life, always smiling and full of faith in her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Hilla is survived by her daughter, Sherry Brown of Lakeland, her son in-law, Anthony Brown of Lakeland, her sister, Roshan Gazdar of Texas, and her sister Ruby Maravala of the U.K. A celebration of her beautiful journey will be held on Friday April 7, 2017 at 11:00 at Heath Funeral Chapel located at 328 South Ingraham Avenue Lakeland, FL 33801
