Helen E. Winstead

Helen E. Winstead, 83 Lakeland " Helen E. Winstead passed away February 15, 2012 of complications from Alzheimer""s disease and osteoporosis. Helen was born January 12, 1929 in Pittsburg, PA. She married Herman Winstead on November 10, 1949; they moved to Lakeland with their young children in 1959. She was one of the founding members of Crystal Lake United Methodist Church. She loved all and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a leader in Campfire and participated in other civic groups. She was a very happy person and loved by so many. Helen is survived by Herman, her husband of 63 years and three children: Susan Wilson of Lakeland, Kay Branch of Anchorage (husband Bill Herman, daughter Laura), and David Winstead (wife Sherlene) of Lakeland. Helen, your family will miss you terribly, but we know that you are in a better place, and all of your pain is gone. Remembering our song (Golden Bells) we shall all be there to see you again. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 3:00 pm at Crystal Lake United Methodist Church.
