Harold L. Thomas

Harold L. Thomas, 94 Lakeland – Harold L. Thomas, 94 of Lakeland, FL, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. He was a native of Montezuma, GA, born September 4, 1923. Harold moved to Lake Wales, FL, in 1940. In February 1943, Harold served in the Pacific Theater during WWII in the US Army Air Corps that later became the US Air Force. After his military service, he returned to Lake Wales to work with Bunting, Tripp & Ingley, CPAs. When he passed his CPA exam in 1960, he was moved to the Lakeland office of Bunting, Tripp & Ingley. In 1965, Harold became a self-employed CPA, serving many Polk County clients until he retired in 2013 at the age of 90. Harold was a charter member of the Lakeside Baptist Church, member of the Optimist Club, Elks Club, FICPA and AICPA. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of almost 70 years; Daughter, Gail Stout (James) of Dade City, FL; Son, Frank Thomas (Michelle) of Orlando, FL; Sister, Martha Philmon of Acworth, GA; three grandchildren (Christopher Dye, Kelly Thomas, and Nicole Thomas); one great-grandson (John Clinton Dye); five step-grandchildren; and three step-great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday July 27, 2018, at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 South Ingraham Ave, Lakeland, FL, at 10 AM, with the funeral service beginning at 11 AM. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, at 2:30 pm.
