Harold A. "Streamline" Sale

Harold A. ""Streamline"" Sale, 83 Sale Insurance Lakeland " Harold A. ""Streamline"" Sale, a lifelong Lakelander, died peacefully at his home on April 2, 2013, due to respiratory failure, surrounded by family, under the care of Good Shepherd Hospice. Streamline was born at home on North Massachusetts Avenue on September 12, 1929 to Lafayette and Annie Jones Sale. He attended John Cox Elementary and graduated from Lakeland Senior High School. He attended Florida Southern College. Streamline was a paratrooper in 101th Airborne and served the Army in Japan after World War II. Following his military service, he returned to Lakeland and began his career in insurance in 1953 first with Brooks Johns, and then with Bob Herndon. After a partnership with Fike-Sale and Associates, Inc., Streamline established the Sale Insurance Agency in 1990. Streamline was a faithful supporter of local sports. He was a founding member of the Lakeland High School Century Club, a founding member of the Lakeland Ski Club, and a founding member of Florida Southern College""s 6th Man Club supporting the Mocs. He was elected member of the Lakeland High School Sports Hall of Fame and was a loyal fan of Dreadnaught""s football. Streamline enjoyed actively serving the community he loved. He was a board member and Chairman of Lakeland Regional Hospital, board member and President of the Boys Club, a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Scottish Rite. Streamline was a director of Atlantic Bank and First Union. He enjoyed membership at the Lone Palm Golf Club and Lakeland Yacht and Country Club where he served on the Board of Governors. He worked on numerous Untied Way campaigns and loved starring in Lakeland Little Theater productions. Streamline spent most mornings on the tennis court and loved playing golf and bridge. In retirement, Streamline enjoyed spending the summers in Wolf Laurel, North Carolina. Streamline is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lafayette Lamar, Junior and Daniel M. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie, his sons, Harold ""Allen"" Sale, Jr. (Marla), Gregory G. Sale (Christina), Robert H. Sale (Brittany) and his siblings, Elizabeth Sale Ferguson and Francis ""Hank"". He has six grandchildren, Ashlie, Christopher, Ethan, Olivia, Peyton, and Harold Mahlon. He has one great grandson, Rylan. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 4:00 PM at St. David""s Episcopal Church.
