Gloria C. Morgan

Gloria Morgan died on July 23, 2018. She was born on January 25, 1938 in Tunja, Colombia. She graduated from Colégio Marymount in Bogotá, and worked for a travel agency in a hotel in downtown Bogotá, where she met her husband, Larry. Gloria and Larry raised their family in São Paulo, Brazil. In 1981, they moved to Lakeland. Gloria loved spirited discussion, the Colombian national soccer team, President Obama, and travel, and her favorite destination was the Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Bhutan, which she visited in 2013. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Larry, and brother, Álvaro Camacho. She is survived by her brothers, Eduardo and Ricardo Camacho, and children, Jeannette Bacon (Graham), James Morgan (Gelse), Marie Anne Dazzi (Victor), and Nicole Phillips (David). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Martin, Katie, Cindy, Christopher, Christie, Viviane, Richard, Kathryn, Olivia, and Colin, and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Friday, July 27 at 2PM at Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seva Foundation (www.seva.org), which works to prevent blindness and restore sight in developing nations. The family would like to thank Dr. Carol Gardner and her caregivers, Amanda, Deysi, and Argy.
