Glenda Fay O’Steen Chasteen Obituary November 1, 1937 – May 8, 2020 Glenda Fay O’Steen Chasteen, age 82, was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 8, 2020, from her home in Lakeland, Florida. She was born November 1, 1937, in Providence, Union County, Florida, to Stanton and Rivy (Fralick) O’Steen. Glenda Fay graduated in 1955 from Union County High School, Lake Butler, Florida. She married John McNulty Chasteen on September 1, 1955, in Providence, Florida. The everlasting joy of her life was her family. There has never been a greater love so graciously given than that to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As a professional, she served as Secretary for Eastside Baptist Church and later worked for the Polk County School Board in the cafeteria, where she was known for baking the most incredibly delicious yeast rolls. Glenda Fay (Fay, Mama, Mom, Mema, Ma, Aunt Fay) is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, John; one daughter, Rivanne Chasteen-Futch (Mike); one son, John Randall Chasteen; three grandchildren, Malinda Renfroe (Jason), Amanda Strickland (Kevin), John Colby Chasteen (Ashleigh); three great-grandchildren, Savannah Strickland, Morgan Strickland, and Remington Chasteen. She also leaves behind one brother, Reverend Lowell G. O’Steen of Lake City, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanton and Rivy O’Steen; two brothers, Eldred Stanton O’Steen and Kenneth Ray O’Steen (Glenda Fay’s twin brother); and two sisters, Elaine (O’Steen) Bielling and Thelma (O’Steen) Crawford. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org in honor of Glenda Fay.
