Gerald "Jerry" J. Eaton

Gerald (Jerry) J. Eaton Age 85 Passed away on July 1, 2015 Born June 27, 1930 in Derby CT., residing in Seymour CT most of his life. He was employed at AVCO Lycoming, Stratford CT. and retired to Florida in 1992. Jerry played high school and semi-pro football. After honorably serving in the U.S. Navy, he became a member of the CT Yankees of Stratford. CT. and taught junior drum corps throughout the state. Later he organized the Seymour Vanguards from 1966 through 1976. In Florida, Jerry was a member of American Legion Post #8 and Moose Lodge 1023 in Winter Haven. His love for music and dancing talent led him to become a senior ballroom dance instructor and also DJ music provider. He is survived by his five children Thomas, Richard, Donna (Spooner), Susan (Ermer), Kevin and his companion Dorothy Hager. Also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and one sister. A wake service will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 from 5-7pm at Heath Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony""s Catholic Church Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:30 am.
