George Kenneth DiFalco of Lakeland, Fl, 100 years old, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice. He was born in Brockton, MA, on February 20, 1924, to Francesco and Caroline (Cordeiro) DiFalco in Brockton, Ma.
George was very proud of his service during World War II and had an abiding love for his country. He graduated from Haverhill High School and joined the Army in 1943. He participated in the invasion of Normandy, Omaha Beach during DDAY. He was awarded The European African Middle East WWII medal with five stars, American Defense Commemorative WWII Occupation Medal, and the French Legion of Honor presented to him by the French Consulate.
After the war, George settled in Haverhill, Ma, where he married Lorraine Glynn and raised a family. He joined the postal service and retired as the Postmaster of Haverhill.
George is survived by his daughter Linda Duemmel (Helge Duemmel) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Lorraine (Glynn) and his granddaughter, Sarah Duemmel, as well as his brothers Francis and James DiFalco, and his sister Corrine DeMott.
George never met a stranger. He had many friends who, along with his family, will miss him dearly.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 501 E Carter Rd, Lakeland, FL 33813 with interment to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US Highway 98 South, Lakeland, FL 33812.
