Gale L. Doak Gale Little Doak died peacefully on March 22, 2016. She was born July 14, 1932, in Alexander City, AL. After graduation from the University of Montevallo and George Peabody College for Teachers, she and her husband, Banton Doak, moved from Nashville, TN to Lakeland, FL, where she lived for 57 years. She was dearly loved and will be missed immensely. She enjoyed crosswords, travel, photography and gardening (especially cultivating orchids). Gale was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland for 57 years. She was an art professor at Florida Southern College for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Banton Savage Doak, daughter Mary Eleanor Doak, parents Robert and Sue Little and brother Bob Little. Gale is survived by her son Robert Banton Doak and daughter-in-law Darlene Doak of Chattanooga, TN, sister Ellen Lotz, brother Don Little, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 3pm at First Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Florida Presbyterian Homes.
