Frank G. Comparetto, Sr.

Frank G. Comparetto, Sr., 85 Musician/ Band Director Lakeland- Frank G. Comparetto,Sr. 85, died Thursday, 10/20/11 of respiratory failure surrounded by his family. Frank was born 8/15/26 in Tampa, Fl. Frank attended Hillsborough High School, The Universities of Tampa, Miami, Florida, and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Frank taught music at several schools, most notably Jefferson High School. In 1984 he retired as an Assistant Principal of Jefferson High School. An accomplished bass fiddler, Frank led the Don Francisco Band in the 1950""s and played in the Tampa Philharmonic Orchestra. Frank is survived by Mary, his wife of 61years, his daughter Karen Lee (David), son Frank Comparetto, Jr. (Geg), daughter Tanya Comparetto Friel (Bill), and grandchildren: Bryan Lee, Alyssa Lee, Nikki Cohn, Frank Comparetto, III, Max Comparetto, MaryHelen Friel, and William Friel, II.
