Francisco Gonzalez

Francisco ‘Paco’ Gonzalez passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Palm Garden of Orlando Nursing Home and was 90 years old. He was born in Cataño, Puerto Rico to parents Jose and Maria Gonzalez. He lost his father at a very young age and as the oldest male sibling of eleven children, supported his family. He moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1953 in search of new beginnings. He established himself and sent for his mother and siblings. Not too long after, his childhood sweetheart soon followed him to New York, and they were married in 1961. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Gregoria Gonzalez and his daughters Ivette Cortes (Jimmy) of Brooklyn, NY, Ana Maria Gonzalez (Mike) of Matawan, NJ and Rosie Cruz (Jaime) of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren Melissa Cortes, Debbie Demeter, Louis Morales, III, Emily and Chelsea Centeno, and Jonathan, Zachary and Jennifer Cruz; and six great-grandchildren Serenity Thomason, Dominique and Kew Hawkes, John Paul and Ryan Rivera and Louis Demeter; Siblings Rosa María Gonzalez, Ernesto Gonzalez (Isa), Maria Escobar (Rafael), Teresa Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, Felicita Lopez, Jose Manuel Lopez and Paulina Lopez. He was preceded in death by his son Gregory Gonzalez and his sister Josefina Gonzalez. He will be cremated on Friday, February 28th and will be buried in Barceloneta Cemetery in Puerto Rico at a later date. Francisco ‘Paco’ González falleció el pasado lunes, 17 de febrero de 2020 en el asilo de ancianos Palm Garden de Orlando a los 90 años de edad. Nació en Cataño, Puerto Rico, de padres José y María González. Perdió a su padre a una edad muy temprana y, por ser el mayor de once hijos, mantuvo a su familia. Se mudó a Brooklyn, New York en 1953 en búsqueda de nuevos comienzos. Luego de establecerse envió a buscar a su madre y hermanos. No mucho tiempo después, su amor de la infancia lo siguió a Nueva York y se casaron en 1961. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Le sobreviven en la muerte su amada esposa de 58 años, Gregoria González, y sus hijas Ivette Cortes (Jimmy) de Brooklyn, NY, Ana María González (Mike) de Matawan, NJ y Rosie Cruz (Jaime) de Lakeland, FL; ocho nietos, Melissa Cortés, Debbie Demeter, Louis Morales III, Emily y Chelsea Centeno, y Jonathan, Zachary y Jennifer Cruz; y seis bisnietos, Serenity Thomason, Dominique y Kew Hawkes, John Paul y Ryan Rivera, y Louis Demeter; hermanos Rosa María González, Ernesto González (Isa), María Escobar (Rafael), Teresa González, Adrián González, Felicita López, José Manuel López y Paulina López. Le precedieron en la muerte su hijo Gregory González y su hermana Josefina González. Será cremado viernes, 28 de febrero y será enterrado en el cementerio de Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, en una próxima fecha.
