Francis Earl ""Frank"" Foland - 89 Florida Southern College Frank Foland was born December 7, 1923 in West Carrollton, Ohio to Maynard and Clara Foland, and was called home by the Lord December 11, 2012. He was preceded in death by his only child, Bruce Foland, and Bruce""s mother, Dawn. He is survived by his wife Ann Wolfe-Foland, grandson Brooks Foland (Beth) and two great-granddaughters of Harrisburg, PA; and niece Nancy Rydell of Santa Ynez, CA. Frank was a 1960 graduate of Florida Southern College. He was a life-long advocate for Florida Southern, and proudly served as its Director of Admissions and its Director of Alumni. Having enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately after Pearl Harbor, he served in the European Theater through World War II, and sang with an Army band. Frank was a patron of music, the theater, and the Lakeland Imperial Symphony Orchestra, and he loved to sing and dance. Frank was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lakeland. Visitation will be Monday, December 17, from 10-11AM at First United Methodist Church, and the service will be in the chapel at 11AM. There will be a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches Inc., PO Box 2000, Boys Ranch, FL 32064-9984.
