Eugene C. Stevens

Eugene C. Stevens, 90 Lakeland: Eugene C. Stevens passed away on August 31, 2014 at the LRMC in Lakeland, FL at the age of 90 of natural causes. He was born in Louisville, KY and raised in Hazard, KY. He served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS New York. He graduated the University of Kentucky as a civil engineer and later became a structural engineer and inspector. He married his love, Eddie Kay, in KY and later moved to Lakeland in 1974 where he worked and retired from Davy McKee and Jacobs Engineering. After a long battle with cancer, Eddie passed in 1997. Eugene had served as president of Wildcat Flying Service and Southeastern Properties and was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and Heritage Baptist Church. He loved to dance with Christine at the Magnolia Center at Lake Mirror on Thursdays and was a member of the Plant City Social Club. He is survived by his son Timothy, and by his grandchildren: Alex, Logan, Skyler, Joshua and Megan. A viewing will be held on Friday September 5, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. at Heath Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 6, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Heath Funeral Chapel with the interment to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
