Elizabeth (Betty) Trask Kantor

June 5, 1927 — February 7, 2013

Elizabeth (Betty) Trask Kantor 85, died peacefully on February 7th at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland due to Myasthenia Gravis and complications. She was a long time resident of Polk County and gave much to the Lakeland community. She worked for many years as a teacher, Special Ed Teacher and finally School Psychometrist. After retirement from Polk County Schools she worked for Watson Clinic Psychological services, also in the service of children. She dedicated her life to children as a Mother, Grandmother, Teacher, Counselor and Child Psychologist. She will be greatly missed by a large Polk County (and beyond) family, countless friends, and co-workers. Preceding her in death are siblings, Dorothy Cleghorn, George Trask and Eunice Carter and husband, Peter Kantor. She is survived by her Brother, Avon Trask, and Sister-in-law, Merilee Trask; Her children: Peter Kantor,Tallahassee; Katie Procter Miller (Fred)Palm Coast, Patti Kantor Wooley(Bruce)Lakeland, Ed Procter,Lakeland, Jon Procter(Sharon)Panama City, Mike Kantor(Loti)Bradenton, Ralph Procter(Lea Ann)Birmingham,AL, and Andy Procter (Drinda),Holmes Beach; Her Grandchildren: Peter Kantor, Paul Kantor, Natalie Kantor Innes , Alex Kantor, Jon Procter, Jason Procter, Erica Osier, Michael Wooley, Michelle Wooley, Johanna Miller, William Miller, Amie Lea Guice, Evan Procter, Lauren Kantor, Ryan Kantor, Andrew Procter and Jack Procter. Her Great Grandchildren: Alexis Kantor, Peter Kantor, Riley Kantor, Addison Kantor, Justin Dougherty, Joseph Dougherty, Ella Cooley, Abbie Gail Wooley, Rivers Procter, Finn Procter, Alaney Procter, Jase Procter, Rowan Osier, Caden Osier and Talon Osier. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 14, 3:00PM at the Chapel at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Polk Education Foundation.
