Eleanor B. Oppermann

Eleanor B. Oppermann (nee Boehler) of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Wantagh, New York, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023.

Ellie was the beloved wife of the late John T. Oppermann (2000), to whom she was married for over 40 years. She leaves behind her beautiful family, son, John Michael Oppermann (Susan Helms) and daughter, Diane Brown (William). She was the proud grandmother of Tyler John, Kelly, Jennifer, Trace (Katie) and Rachel. She celebrated her great-grandchildren, Raelin, Jyden and Everly. Ellie is predeceased by her sister, Ruth and brother-in-law, John. She dearly loved her niece, Elaine and nephew, John, and their families.

She was a registered nurse in New York. Ellie’s passions throughout her life revolved around her family and friends. She enjoyed checking in on her children and grandchildren daily. She enjoyed nature and all its beauty, whether sitting on her patio in Wantagh surrounded by her garden or sitting quietly outside with a good book. She enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband. Her other lifelong passion was music, especially that of James Taylor, Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli.

Most of all, Ellie will be remembered for her unconditional love and passion to help others. She had a loving heart for all who met her.
