Edwin Smiley Iii

""Skip"" Edwin Charles Bowe Wilson Smiley III, 71, of Lakeland, FL, died peacefully and comfortably at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, June 28, 2016. Born November 18, 1944 in Miami, FL, he called many places home growing up, but decided to plant his roots in Lakeland, FL in 1977. He moved there to help his father operate the Lakeland Loop News newspaper. He later joined the Jenkins Lincoln Mercury""s sales team and retired after 24 years of service. Skipper enjoyed life with close friends, but loved golf. He organized a special group of faithful eight who religiously teed it up every Sunday at either Wedgewood or Huntington Hills golf courses. Anyone who met him would say, ""He""s a nice guy"". He was preceded in death by his father Ted Smiley and his beloved mother Wendy Smiley. He is survived by his pride and joy, daughter, Chassy Smiley of Kingsport, TN.
