Edward Clarence Stewart, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Edward was born on August 1, 1933 to Roxie Waldron in Brantley County, Georgia. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida, class of 1952. Mr. Stewart retired from the United States Army after serving our country for twenty years. His many tours of duty included Korea and Vietnam. Edward went on to a second career of twenty-two years with CSX Railroad retiring in 1995. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Frances Mumbauer Stewart of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by his children: Alva Stewart Martin; Phyllis DuBose (Wayne); William (Bill) Stewart (Faye);Wayne Stewart (Amanda); Edward (Eddie) Stewart, Jr. (Tonia); Stephen (Steve) Wood (Denise); Deborah (Debbie) Romero (Willie); Sharon Johnson (David); John Wood (Kathy) along with sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Edward loved his family and his country. He was an avid Florida Gator fan. Services will be held on August 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Special Operations Warrior Foundation (specialops.org).
