Douglas A. Yeck LAKELAND " Douglas A. Yeck, 60, passed away on July 26, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 21, 1956, and moved to Lakeland, Florida with his family as a young child. He was a 1974 graduate of Lakeland High School and was a varsity football player for the Lakeland Dreadnaughts. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Doug worked 20 years as an Industrial Construction Supervisor for Publix Supermarkets, Inc., until his retirement in 2015. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Yeck. Doug is survived by his mother Doris Yeck; his wife and best friend of 37 years, Sharon Loftin Yeck; son, Ryan (Amy) Yeck; daughters, Erin (Josue"") Valle and Jayme (Alan) Erskine all of Lakeland. He is also the beloved ""Papa"" to Gracie, Madelyn and Braden Erskine and Maya and Logan Valle. He is also survived by sisters Sally (Larry) McMachen, Lakeland, and Sue (Paul) Schwan of Ft. Myers, sisters-in-law, Stephanie Loftin Lynch, Chicago, IL and Sandra Loftin (Tim) Milcich, brother-in-law, Will Loftin both of Lakeland, along with several nieces and nephews. His family meant everything to him and we will miss him will all of our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lakeland.
