Dorothy J. Hallada, 91 Homemaker Lakeland " Dorothy J. Hallada, 91, passed away March 16, 2012 due to cardiac arrest. She was born May 5, 1920 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, daughter of William Blanchard and Irene McDonald Blanchard. She spent her growing up years in Canada. She married Loris E. Hallada in 1938 and moved to N.Y. State. She and her husband were snow birds for many years, spending many years in Lakeland where they made many friends. They were both avid golfers. Mrs. Hallada was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She gave time to St. Vincent de Paul, pregaid and was a member of the secular Carmelites community of St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Hallada loved to cook and was most happy when entertaining friends. Mrs. Hallada was predeceased by her husband of 71 years on August 3, 2010, one son Micheal in 1995, her five brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by one son, Brian, daughter-in-law, Sharon, daughter-in-law, Marlene of Syracuse, NY, granddaughter, Nicole Hallada LaDuc, two great-granddaughter, sister, Elaine Ofrencheck of Niagara Falls, Canada, and sister-in-law, Theresa Gibbs of Massena, NY. There will be a mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10 am with burial in New York State. Service: 03/24/2012 St. Joseph Catholic Church 210 W.
