Dorothy "Dottie" W. Collins

Dorothy ""Dottie"" W. Collins, 90 Lakeland " ""Dottie"" was born in 1923 and passed on January 07, 2014 of natural causes. She lived in Zanesville, Ohio until she left for Duke University where she graduated in 1944 with a degree in Economics. Dottie married Dr. John P. Collins in 1946, and they moved to Lakeland in 1955 where they raised their family. Dottie was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, was an active volunteer in the community, a member of the Junior League where she served as President, an avid tennis player and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother. Dottie is survived by her four children, Janet, Linda, Nancy, and John, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Hollingsworth Drive at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer""s Association, 1000 American Superior Blvd., Winter Haven, FL., 33880.
