Doris Mae Rhey

Doris Mae Rhey, 90 Lakeland " Doris Mae Rhey, 90 of Lakeland, FL., passed away peacefully on May 11, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Doris Mae Graffius grew up in Homestead, PA where she married her high school sweetheart, Elbert H. Rhey. She lived with El in Pittsburgh, PA, Greensburg, PA, Cape Coral, FL, Unity Township, PA and Riverview, FL. Most recently Doris lived in Lakeland, FL near her son""s family. Doris was baptized in the Methodist Episcopal Church in Homestead; as a child she loved to swim and roller-skate. She was a devoted Lutheran for most of her adult life. She worked for the US Naval Lab during WWII, spent most of her married life as a homemaker and loving mother and enjoyed golf, bowling, cooking and crafts. She worked for several years as an administrator for the Westmoreland Clerk of the Court in Greensburg, PA. She will always be remembered for her warmth and kindness. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, William L. and Dena E. Rhey, her grandchildren, John, Kendra, Mary, Michael and Parker and nine great grandchildren. A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 9:00am at Apostles Lutheran Church, 200 Kingsway Road, Brandon, FL. Inurnment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
