Doris Alice Pierce

Doris (Dot) Moran Pierce, 89 Lakeland – Doris Moran Pierce passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in Lakeland, Florida, at Lakeland Hospice House/Good Shepherd Hospice. She was born in Lakeland, Florida on February 20, 1929, to Millard Moran and Sallie Parham. Dot met the love of her life, Francis M. Pierce, and married on August 16, 1946. She was a dedicated pastor’s wife, mother and homemaker. She traveled as a military spouse to Germany, Newfoundland and numerous duty stations throughout the United States. She was a member of Medulla Baptist Church and, in later life, Lakeside Baptist Church, Lakeland, Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Pierce Stewart, and son-in-law, Charles W. Stewart, of Treasure Island, FL; her granddaughter, Alice Stewart-Rosello, and her grandson-in-law, Francisco Rosello, of Largo, FL. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Ashley Pierce, of Mulberry, FL. The joy of her heart is her four great-grandchildren, Angelina Rosello, Frank Rosello, Haven Pierce and Avery Pierce. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her spouse, Rev. Francis M. Pierce; her son, Frank M. Pierce; siblings, Marion Moran, Louise Moran, John L. Moran, Thelma Berry, Geraldine Weeks, Julian B. Moran, Dewey Moran, Willard Moran, Ernest Moran, and William (Pete) Moran; and her parents, Millard M. Moran and Sallie F. Parham. Family and Friend visitation will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 South Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801 with services at 10:30 am and a reception to follow in the Tribute Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Liberty Christian School Technology Fund, 9401 4th Street N., St. Petersburg, Florida 33702 in Dot’s memory. The family would like to thank the the Manor at Carpenters for the loving care provided in our mother’s final days as well as the respectful and gentle end of life care provided by the Good Shepherd’s Hospice House that allowed her to peacefully go on to be with the Lord.
