Don I. Lang

Don Lang, formerly of Racine, WI, passed away on February 24, 2018. His death was due to lung problems. Although Don never smoked, he believed his involvement with petrochemicals caused his COPD or lung disease. Don was born in Racine, WI, in February 8, 1930 to George & Marian Lang. Don was a graduate of the Park High School “Class of 1948” and the University of Wisconsin “Class of 1953” Civil Engineering. On March 31, 1963, Don married Sondra M. Larsen. Later in life, Don was a caregiver for Sondra, who had MS. His father, George, was a partner in the Bratt & Lang Oil Co. Don owned and operated Lang Engineering Co., Inc. (road construction business) in Racine and Rochester, WI, and Lakeview Terrace Retirement Home in Burlington, WI. Don was a professional engineer and registered land surveyor in Wisconsin and a professional engineer registered in Florida. Don enjoyed playing handball with several friends for over 40 years. He was a member of the Shrine in Racine and in Lakeland and also a member of Beth Israel Sinai Congregation in Racine, WI. Surviving is a daughter, Kimberly, and a grandson, Elias, of Minneapolis, MN. His brother, Bill Lang, who lived a block away in Schalamar Creek Mobile Home Park in Lakeland, FL before moving to Lake Morton Retirement Home in Lakeland, passed away July 3, 2011.
