Dolores M Mcneal

Dolores M. “Dee” McNeal, 71, of Lakeland, Florida, died on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her home after a long battle with leukemia.

Dee was born Dolores Massingale on February 24, 1952, in Cincinnati, OH to Clarence and Thelma Massingale, the third of four children. She graduated from Campbell County High School and The Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH for 16 years. She married James McNeal of Cincinnati, OH in 1985 and later left nursing to care full-time for their son, Adam. Dee was an avid student of the Bible who loved to teach women’s Bible Studies in the Cincinnati area. She was a prolific crocheter and embroiderer, and her hands were always busy serving others. She lived to bless and nurture her family, and her family adored her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, James McNeal of Lakeland, FL, son Adam McNeal (Ellie) of Lakeland, FL, stepdaughter Shelley Walter (Joe) of Burlington, KY, grandchildren Annie, Sam, and Hope McNeal, and step-grandchildren Kourtney Karloskey of Cincinnati, OH, and Jake Walter (Rebekah) of Burlington, KY, sister Clarice Joyner (Randol), niece Lisa Smith (Dan), nephew Greg Joyner, and great-nieces Claire and Jaclyn Smith, all of Castle Rock, CO.

She is predeceased by her daughter Anne Elizabeth McNeal, her parents, brother Thomas Massingale and sister Etta Massingale.
