Dixie Harper Corrigan

October 10, 1941 — November 10, 2023

Dixie H. Corrigan, born on October 10, 1941, concluded her earthly journey on November 10, 2023.

Dixie was born in Charleston, Missouri, and grew up with her parents and seven siblings. She was raised on a farm, engraining in her a deep work ethic and a life surrounded by family. On July 24, 1965, she married her lifelong love, John C. Corrigan III. Their union began a journey that took them from Lock Haven, PA, where they built their family, to Lakeland, FL, a place they’ve called home since June 1982.

While Dixie worked throughout her life, she loved her job as a mom and a “Gigi” the most. Beyond her family, Dixie worked tirelessly volunteering for Church of the Resurrection in many capacities. Dixie's commitment to her faith and her church community touched the lives of many. Dixie was renowned among friends for her passion for sewing and cooking – always trying new recipes and sharing her creations. Her friends and neighbors looked most forward to Christmas Eve when she lovingly prepared and delivered her famous warm coffee cakes.

Dixie is survived by her loving husband, John, and their children: J.C. and his wife, Patty, along with their children Nathan and Shannon, and Jennifer Berger and her husband Jake, with their children Ava and Quinn Wiggins. She is also survived by her siblings Martha Dillon, Sharon Loomis, and Charlie Harper and countless in-laws, nieces and nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her father, Olien "OD," her mother, Lois, and siblings Annette, Frances, Galen, and Margaret.

Dixie will be remembered for her unwavering love, her dedication to family and community, and the warmth she brought to the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. As we say our goodbyes, let us cherish the memories of a life well-lived and a soul that touched us all.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 2-4 pm in the Tribute Center at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 10:30 am at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Terrace Way, Lakeland, FL 33813.
