Delores Vogel

Delores Ann Vogel of Lakeland passed away peacefully June 13 after battling cancer and renal disease. Her devoted husband of 52 years, Phillip, was at her side. Born April 4, 1941 in Fort Wayne, Ind., Delores lived in Allentown and St. Mary""s, Pa., and Berkeley Heights, N.J., before moving to Lakeland in 1974. She worked for several local companies including Badcock Home Furniture, Mine and Mill and Bordon Dairy. She moved to Findlay, Ohio in 1996 and worked at Kohl""s Distribution Center before returning to Lakeland in 2004. She was a wife, a mother and grandmother with a strong, fighting spirit. She battled Non-Hodgkin""s Lymphoma twice and both times beat it back into submission. Her last bout with the disease, however, cost her the use of her kidneys. She received dialysis at Watson Clinic Kidney Center where she made several friends. She was a lifelong, devoted Roman Catholic who had a special devotion to our Blessed Mother. She was a parishioner at Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland for several years and was known by many. She is survived by her husband, Phillip; her children, Timothy Vogel and Christina Brownlow; daughter-in-law, Sherri Vogel; son-in-law, William Brownlow; and her grandchildren, Joshua Clendening, Jessica Vogel, Kimber Vogel, Kristen Vogel, Hannah Vogel, Matthew Brownlow and Monica Brownlow; brothers, Robert and Richard Troendly; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Michael and Judy Wright; and Richard and Margaret Preston as well as many other friends and family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernadine Troendly, and her brother, Donald.
