Daniel Joseph Giannini

Daniel Joseph Giannini, 82, of Lakeland, FL, passed away on March 4, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Health. Daniel was born on July 13, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Vito & Lena (Strollo) Giannini. A graduate of Lakeland High School in 1950, he attended the Fashion Institute in New York City. He was the co-owner and chef of Vito""s Italian Restaurant here in Lakeland for over 40 years. Vito""s opened in 1952 and he worked until retiring in 1998. He was also a member of Church of the Resurrection. Survivors include his sister, Loretta Wurthmann; a niece, Renee W. Tomkow & her husband, David L.; a nephew, James Wurthmann Jr. & his wife Stacey R.; great nieces: Hailey Tomkow & Lauren Wurthmann and great nephews: David Tomkow & Matthew Wurthmann. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Giannini and his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00PM at the Church of the Resurrection, 3855 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland with burial to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Heath Funeral Chapel, Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel""s honor to the Santa Fe Catholic High School, 3110 US 92 East, Lakeland, FL 33801.
