Connie Lynn Reiber

November 21, 1955 — June 23, 2019

Connie Lynn Reiber, 63, passed away on June 23rd in the early morning, after a long battle with cancer. With her passing, and resting in the promises and faithfulness of God, we know that cancer is dead, and she is alive and well with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on November 21st, 1955, in Tampa, Florida, Connie was the daughter of Curtis and JoAnn Morris. She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis. She is survived by her husband, her best friend and love of her life of 43 years, David K. Reiber; her daughter, Rosa Reiber; her son, Jonathan Reiber, and his wife, Ashley Reiber, their beautiful children, Connie’s grandchildren, Jaycob, Hayden, Everett, Sam, and many more foster grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, JoAnn, brother, Curt Morris (Marianne), and sister, Darlene Apperson (Floyd). Connie trusted in the timing and perfect plan of Jesus and moved to Lakeland in 1976 to live with her dear grandmother who had recently lost her husband. There, Connie met and fell in love with her best friend, David, while working at Southgate Publix—Connie, the cashier, David, the bag boy. Their relationship was a true testament of God’s love and grace and was a wonderful example to everyone they met. She went on to work at several banks as a Banker Teller, ending up at BB&T in Bartow, Florida. There, she was a beloved co-worker and mentor, and had the friendliest smile and most welcoming demeanor to all her customers. She created and fostered a loving, judgement free home, filled with warmth, kindness, iconic mac and cheese, and fresh baked pound cake. She was so proud of her children and who they grew up to be. They are everything they are because of her beautiful spirit, positivity, and many life lessons taught along the way. Everyone who met Connie described her as the sweetest, most positive person. Her foundation rested in the blessed assurance found through her faith in Jesus and His resurrection. We know she is resting in the arms of Jesus and we will see her again soon. Her sincere love and light shone so bright and will continue in the legacy of those who had the honor to know her. Please join us to celebrate her love and life. Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakeland, Florida, on Saturday, June 29th. Visitation at 10 am with a service to follow at 11 am. Graveside interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Close family and friends are welcome back to Jonathan and Ashley’s home for a small gathering. Flowers or memorials can be sent to Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 South Ingraham Avenue Lakeland, FL 33801 or Phil’s Friends, a non-profit which points cancer patients back to the hope found in Jesus. https://philsfriends.org/
