Clifford Laroy Pickett

Mr. Clifford Laroy Pickett, of Lakeland, died Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Scott Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 13, 1928, in Miami, he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Gladys Pickett. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Louise (Vickers) Pickett in 2011; son-in-law Thomas Easom Sharrett of Lakeland in 2022; grandson Gerald Alan Andrews in 1971; and grandson-in-law Sgt. Michael S. McDonald in 2021.

Survivors include his three children, Sylvia (Ken) Andrews, Salisbury, N.C.; Janet Louise Sharrett, Lakeland; and Dale Allen (Charlotte) Pickett, Lakeland; grandchildren Thomas Christopher (Lauren) Sharrett, Daniel Easom (Kristina) Sharrett, Brian Eric (Jessica) Andrews, Cheryl Denise McDonald; great-granddaughters Helena Sharrett, Mae Louise Sharrett, Kathryn Sharrett, Evelyn Andrews and Hannah Andrews; great-grandsons Grason (Brianna) Sharrett, Riley Sharrett, Miles Sharrett and Danny Sharrett; and great-grandson-in-law Logan McDonald.

Mr. Pickett retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he had served many years. Both gifted musicians and devoted Christians, Clifford and Louise gave their entire lives to the service of Jesus Christ. They were known far and wide for the joy they engendered with their music that forever lifted the name of Jesus high. Heaven is surely celebrating their presence.

Heath Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Private graveside services are planned.
