Clifford Gail Patterson

June 26, 1949 — March 31, 2024

Gail Patterson left this earth on March 31st, 2024, at 9:55 PM at Good Shephard Hospice House in Lakeland, Florida. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones as she took her last breath.


Gail is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bob, sisters Deb Lee and Elda Owens, sons Richard Sumner and wife, Adelle, Jason Sumner and wife, Michelle, Christopher Sumner; daughters Bonnie Patterson-James and husband, Jordan, Tammie Mills and husband Craig; grandchildren Jessica Kennedy and husband, Jaime, Christian Alford and wife, Heather, Christopher Mills and wife, Candice, Victoria Stetson, Shelby Martin and husband, Shawn, Richard Sumner, Casper Sumner, Chloe Sumner, Richard Sumner, Tessa Sumner; great-grandchildren Allyson Kennedy, Aubrey Martin, Bella Alford, Kole Kennedy, Jaxon Gober, Asher Martin, Brinlee Alford, Thomas Martin, Olivia Martin, Jamieson Miles, Kayden Kennedy. Gail is predeceased by her grandparents Frank and Clifford Mae Jackson and parents, Hubert Henderson, and Nellie Ruth Griffis.


Gail was born in Jesup, Georgia in June of 1949. She led a full life as an employee at Piper Aircraft, Napleton Nissan, a cake decorator, team mom however her most loved position was that of homemaker, wife, mom and “Mimi” to many. Gail loved gardening and returned many plants that were deemed trash back to life. She showed love and kindness to all living people and things. It was because of her example of love, kindness and strength that she was the natural matriarch of the “Patterson Pack” and led her family to be their best selves.


A celebration of life will be held at Together Church at a future date which will be announced. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Gail Patterson to the Good Shepherds Hospice House-Lakeland Campus 3010 W. Azeele Street, Suite 120, Tampa, FL 33609.
