Clarence A Green, 96 Owner/Operator Lakeland " Clarence A. Green passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, due to natural causes. He was born in Saskatchewan, Canada to Charles and Sarah Green on July 13, 1916. The family moved to Auburn, NY in his formative years and he became a U.S. citizen. Later, he lived and operated a business in Haines City, FL before moving to Lakeland in the 1960s, residing the last four years at Lake Morton Plaza. He and his wife, Cora, enjoyed traveling back to Auburn to visit good friends and relatives, and they traveled to most of the states, national parks and to England. He was Presbyterian. Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cora, who died last Decemeber. They celebrated 75 years of marriage last May. Two sons, Ronald and Edward (Joanna), also preceded him in death in seperate accidents in young adulthood. He is survived by his brother, Charles (Althea) of Scarborough, ME, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 1:00 pm, in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801. Following the service there will be a reception in the Community Room at Lake Morton Plaza, 400 South Florida Avenue, Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Clarence Green may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 4902 Eisenhower Blvd., Tampa, FL 33634 or a charity of your choice.
