Charles Philip Guest

Charles Philip Guest, age 67, passed away May 6th 2014 at his home, of heart failure. Born in Tampa, FL he was a life-long resident of Lakeland. After high school, he joined the Air Force and served tours in Greenland, Iceland and Vietnam. Once discharged he attended Florida State University where he obtained a bachelors degree in Criminology. He also went on to obtain a masters degree in Criminal Justice from Rollins College. He spent his working career in law enforcement serving 22 years with the Lakeland Police Department and 12 years with Tampa Police Department. He had recently retired in January 2014 from the state of Florida where he was an elderly abuse investigator. Survivors include his wife Debbie Guest, Daughter Vicki Newman and her husband Chris, Sons James Guest and his wife Cathleen, David Guest and step children Tiffany Faulkner and husband Chris, Nick Lanier and wife Heather, Crystal LaFountain and husband Jeremy, Katie Zavala and husband Chris, and Chris Lanier and 5 grandchildren.
